The CHERRIES model has been tested in 3 EU regions: Murcia, Örebro and Cyprus.
Our goal was to create a community of al least 3 more regions who will benefit from personalised support to implement the CHERRIES model and learnings in their own territories, leveraging their own territorial resources. This will be based on a recruitment campaign, which aims to mobilise potential Mirrors from all EU countries and beyond.
A call for Mirror Regions will be launch in late 2021.

Burgos is a province of Spain belonging to the autonomous community of Castilla y León, located in the north of the Iberian Peninsula.
Its capital is the homonymous city.
Burgos is the Spanish province with the largest number of municipalities, however, most of them do not reach 1,000 inhabitants.
In the province there are 371 municipalities and more than 1200 population centers.
The province of Burgos has an area of 14,022 km², and in 2020 it had 355,693 inhabitants. The distribution of the Burgos population is not uniform.
The province has 355,693 inhabitants of which 68.9% (245,365) live in the three localities, which are in turn the most dynamic, of more than 20,000 inhabitants of the province, while 31% (110,328) live one of the 368 municipalities or 1,197 population centers in the province (Of the slightly more than 1,200 municipalities in Burgos, 953 have less than 100 inhabitants).
Centro Region is one of the five Portuguese administrative regions from the mainland. It has around 2.2 million inhabitants (22% of Portugal), spread over 100 municipalities, which cover 31% of the national territory. Two of the striking characteristics of the region are its rather low population density and is its demographic decline. In Centro, in 2020, the crude rate of natural growth (of population) was -0,65% and for each 207 elderly people (65 or more years-old) there was only 100 young persons (less than 15 years-old). Ageing of population is, therefore, a recognized problem in Centro Region and the search for innovative and inclusive solutions, which can promote lifelong health and an autonomous life, is a real and current need.
The Romanian health care system is a social health insurance system that has remained highly centralized despite recent efforts to decentralize some regulatory functions. The state finances primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare. Public health campaigns are independently financed by the Government of Romania. The Ministry of Health of Romania manages and supervises the public healthcare sector.
Situated along the leading edge of Europe, Ireland’s Western Region is a region of contrasts, home to a global med-tech hub, an acknowledged industrial expertise in sensors and mobility and a burgeoning creative economy. The Western Region is comprised of the counties of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Galway and Clare and is a largely rural region and includes some of the most remote parts of the country. In fact, 64.7% in of the population live outside of towns of 1,500 people or more and that’s why there is a particular focus on the needs of, and opportunities for, more rural and peripheral areas.
